About WĒTĀ CLASS UK

So who is the Weta Class UK Association for?

Membership is open to anyone who owns, sails or is interested in the Weta one design dinghy in the United Kingdom.

Aren't Class Associations only for serious racers?

Not necessarily. While there is a focus on racing, class association membership has other benefits too. It enables those who are passionate about their boat to have a central point of focus and in the future we hope to arrange not just the annual 'Swarm' race event but also meet ups for social sailing at venues around the country (or maybe travel to meet and sail with Weta owners further afield).

It's worth noting though that even if you are not a competitive sailor, joining with other Weta sailors at a race event is one of the best ways to hone your own sailing, and most Weta racers are actually quite friendly and will happily share sailing hints and a host of other tips and tweaks that will help you personalise your boat to suit the sailing you do.

What benefits would I get as a member?

We are currently in a phase of renewal and it is hoped to be able to offer similar benefits to that of other class associations. As the Weta membership grows we will endeavour to offer something for everyone, not just the racers.
